IDG’S CIO Magazine Announces Address by Nasdaq Chief Information Officer on 9-11 Disaster Recovery Effort at CIO Magazine Conference;
On October 15, 2001, Nasdaq CIO and Executive Vice President of IT and Operations* Gregor Bailar will address CIOs, CEOs and other business executives at CIO magazine’s 25th Perspectives Conference. Bailar will speak about his September 11th experiences, namely how he was able to lead his company in recovering and preparing for the September 17th reopening of the stock market. He will tell executive attendees about the distributed systems, contingency planning, architecture and dedicated staff that made it possible for Nasdaq to resume trading six days after the terrorist attacks. Bailar’s presentation is on Monday, October 15, 2001, at 1:45pm PT.
CIO magazine’s 25th CIO Perspectives Conference, “Different Voices/Shared Visions: Getting Alignment Right,” kicks off October 14th at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho Mirage, CA. In light of the September 11th terrorist attacks and the ripple effect on the US economy, CIO magazine will address the renewed importance of disaster recovery and business continuity. CIO is hosting an interactive discussion panel, “Town Meeting: Changing Priorities for a New Reality,” on Monday, October 15, 2001, at 8:15am PT.
